#beyourselfalways
This week we have said a sad goodbye to Mrs Haworth and Bethany as they jet off to start a new life in Portugal. We are so grateful to Mrs Haworth for the amazing contribution she has made to our Nursery Class and we will miss them both very much!
Another half-term comes to an end at Hillside. It has been busy and fun-filled from start to finish. We have loved spending more time outdoors exploring our beautiful grounds in the sunshine. Lots of our pupils have enjoyed extra-curricular clubs, from gardening to sports, craft to games. A new set of clubs will be available to book on to from the second week back - all free and more details to follow.
A huge well done to our wonderful year 6 pupils who approached their SATs tests with an incredible attitude and a smile on their faces. We are incredibly proud of each one of you.
Next half-term, will see our year 1 pupils complete the National Phonics Screener reading check and our year 4s complete the National Multiplication check. Details of parent information meetings about these will be sent out shortly.
Thank you to all our families for choosing Hillside for your children and continuing to support us in providing the best education we can.

Running with Heart: A Pupil’s Inspiring Achievement
📢 Pupil Shoutout! 📢
We couldn’t be prouder of this incredible young man! Over the weekend, he took part in the Race for Life, completing a challenging 5K muddy course in just 36 minutes. Even more inspiring, he’s already raised an amazing £175 for Cancer Research! He truly embodies our ‘Show You Care’ value.
Well done — what a fantastic achievement! 🌟
Leaping, Learning, and Measuring Success
Year 6 enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon combining PE with Maths, as they practiced long jumps, measured distances, and collected data. A fantastic example of using maths in real-life contexts — well done, Year 6!
Special Moments and a Surprising Guest!
Today in Year 4, our PSHE lesson featured a lively show and tell session, where we explored the people and things that are special to each of us. The highlight? A surprise visit from one pupil’s pet frog!
Coffee, Connection, and Community
Huge thank you to Mrs Clayton for organising another wonderful community coffee morning for our families. It was so lovely to see so many of you there. Thank you to all our visiting stalls for spending time sharing what you do.

At Co-op Academy Hillside, we will do all we can to support your family and ensure our academy is safe, calm and a supportive environment for your child. Let’s celebrate everyone’s success together.
