Action packed day for our Year 6 adventurers!
In Year 1, we created our own doll houses.
We had to think about the interior and exterior of our own houses and how we could make miniature versions of everything.
On Monday, representatives from our school council were invited to an awards ceremony to collect our School of Sanctuary Award.
This award recognises Co-op Academy Hillside for its good practice in fostering a culture of welcome and inclusion.
Our pupils were wonderful advocates for the school and spoke so well about all inclusive activities the school has achieved.
Special thanks to Miss O’Broin for her work in collecting the evidence needed to achieve such a prestigious and well deserved award.
Year 3 enjoyed their DT day last week.
We looked at the fashion designer Vera Wang and all of the skills she needed to become a successful designer.
We then used our own skills to design and make a coin holder using felt and cotton to join the material.
We have improved so much with our sewing skills.
Year 5 spending some time on the iPads in Spanish today.
We have been testing ourselves on everything we have learnt this year.
Year 2 enjoyed a drama session this week with a visitor from Drama4all.
Rewards come to those who litter pick!
Eco-council were invited to get an ice cream today by our community officers because we helped to keep our community free of litter.
Well done everyone!
This week we have been really lucky to enjoy some tennis sessions from a tennis coach.
He came and spent the day with us and will be returning next Monday too!
Watch out Wimbledon.
EYFS really enjoyed their team building session with Commando Joe!
In science, Year 5 dissected flowers to identify all the different parts that we have been looking at.
Everyone worked really hard and produced some excellent work.
This week Years 1, 2 and 3 enjoyed a fantastic sports day.
They all had a variety of tasks to complete, they all needed to use a variety of skills and they all had so much fun.
Thank you to Mr Farrell and Mike for organising such a great sporting event.
Thank you to the Year 5 children for being such magnificent support into the smooth running of the event.
Finally thank you to families for coming along and making it super special!
