Sports Success
Published 19/07/23Key Stage 2 were involved in a sports session last week where some of them played in a rounders tournament against other fantastic schools.
Co-op Academy Hillside did a phenomenal job! Well done everyone.

Design Day for Year 2
Published 17/07/23Year 2 had their DT day last week.
Before we started building we completed an investigation on how air can produce movement.
To do this we used different types of pumps and our own breath through a straw to see what we could move.
We then created our own moving monsters. We had lots of fun and loved our finished projects.

Creating Doll Houses
Published 14/07/23In Year 1, we created our own doll houses.
We had to think about the interior and exterior of our own houses and how we could make miniature versions of everything.

School of Sanctuary Award
Published 12/07/23On Monday, representatives from our school council were invited to an awards ceremony to collect our School of Sanctuary Award.
This award recognises Co-op Academy Hillside for its good practice in fostering a culture of welcome and inclusion.
Our pupils were wonderful advocates for the school and spoke so well about all inclusive activities the school has achieved.
Special thanks to Miss O’Broin for her work in collecting the evidence needed to achieve such a prestigious and well deserved award.

Year 3 Design & Technology
Published 11/07/23Year 3 enjoyed their DT day last week.
We looked at the fashion designer Vera Wang and all of the skills she needed to become a successful designer.
We then used our own skills to design and make a coin holder using felt and cotton to join the material.
We have improved so much with our sewing skills.
