PE
At Co-op Academy Hillside, we believe that Physical Education (PE) is an essential part of a child’s development—physically, socially, emotionally, and mentally. Our PE curriculum is designed to inspire all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and physical activity.
Our Intent:
-
To provide a broad and balanced PE curriculum that develops pupils’ physical literacy, teamwork, and confidence.
-
To ensure all pupils are physically active for sustained periods of time, promoting healthy habits for life.
-
To develop a love of movement through a variety of activities, including invasion games, dance, gymnastics, athletics, swimming, and outdoor adventurous activities.
-
To encourage resilience, fairness, and respect, both in individual and team settings.
-
To support the development of key skills such as agility, balance, coordination, strength, stamina, and tactical thinking.
-
To ensure that all children, regardless of ability or background, have opportunities to compete, collaborate, and lead in physical activity.
Enrichment
We provide our pupils with regular opportunities to compete in inter-school competitions and are partnered with Co-op Academy Bebington.
Our pupils have Karate lessons each week with Sensai Paul.
We have a range of extra- curricular sports available throughout the year, including Gymnastics in the Community every Friday in our school Hall.
